MBS Controls Manager

Role Overview

Meta is looking for a Controls Manager to join the Meta Business Services (MBS) Controls team. This team is dedicated to continuously enhancing the control environment organization-wide, ensuring the security and accuracy of financial operations while mitigating risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a primary liaison connecting multiple Finance teams to escalate and address control-related risks appropriately.
• Lead comprehensive finance integrity control projects through all phases including initiation, planning, execution, remediation, and post-implementation evaluation.
• Identify financial integrity risks and implement strategies to assess and minimize these risks within Meta's financial operations.
• Initiate and drive improvements to control processes to enhance efficiency, reduce manual workload, and improve prevention and detection of financial issues.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance Operations, Legal, Policy, and Engineering teams to design controls targeting emerging risks.
• Perform control designs and risk assessments focused on financial integrity for finance operations.
• Maintain clear documentation such as process flows, control narratives, and risk assessment reports.
• Provide transparent progress updates and detailed reports to leadership and involved stakeholders.
• Identify potential obstacles and dependencies across teams and facilitate their resolution by engaging the right experts.
• Keep abreast of evolving industry risks and best practices to continuously enhance Meta's control systems.
• Promote understanding and awareness of financial risks within Finance and partner teams in MBS.

Minimum Qualifications

• Over 5 years of experience in areas such as risk management, internal controls, internal audit, fraud investigation, or roles focused on financial integrity.
• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects with cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders without formal authority in a cross-functional setting.
• Experience performing risk assessments and designing appropriate mitigating controls.
• Skilled in simplifying complex problems into clear, practical recommendations for diverse audiences through reports and presentations.
• Strong problem-solving aptitude demonstrating creativity, logical reasoning, and solid business judgment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leveraging AI technologies to optimize workflows and generate measurable improvements in efficiency or quality.
• Familiarity with the Order to Cash process or related financial domains.
• Work experience in high-tech platform companies or scalable financial services environments.
• Professional certifications like ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CFE, CIA, or their equivalents.
• Knowledge of established internal control frameworks such as COSO and COBIT, with practical application to financial integrity.
• Ongoing development of AI-related skills, including prompt engineering and agent orchestration, with a focus on emerging AI technologies.
• Track record of responsible and ethical AI implementation, including risk assessment and bias mitigation.
• Experience in process mapping, root cause analysis, and driving sustainable process enhancements.
• Proficiency using analytics and data-driven monitoring, including continuous control monitoring techniques.
• Experience working within SOX-controlled environments, particularly with SOX readiness or compliance.
