Role Overview
Meta is actively looking for a seasoned and certified accountant to join our International Statutory Controllership Team. This pivotal position entails responsibility for a global statutory controllership domain and oversight as the entity controller for various Meta entities across Latin America. This role demands a rare combination of advanced statutory accounting knowledge coupled with impactful leadership in automation and AI initiatives to shape the future of controllership within a tech-driven enterprise.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Take charge of a worldwide statutory control and governance process, elevating standards and controls while pushing for continuous enhancements throughout Meta's international entity network.
- Serve as the primary entity controller managing compliance with local accounting principles, regulatory mandates, and company-wide reporting standards for Latin American subsidiaries.
- Lead transformative automation and AI projects that enhance localized accounting operations across diverse jurisdictions.
- Apply specialized technical judgment to multifaceted statutory accounting scenarios spanning multiple countries.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-departmental teams to ensure statutory compliance and drive business enablement in rapidly expanding markets.
- Architect and deploy scalable, technology-empowered processes to support an evolving team operating model.
- Ensure stringent internal controls while meeting governance, compliance, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) standards.
- Convey complex accounting and regulatory topics clearly to senior leaders, auditors, and internal partners.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Certified accountant credential (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) with over seven years of post-qualification experience in statutory accounting or financial reporting.
- Extensive knowledge of local statutory accounting standards and compliance requirements across multiple international jurisdictions.
- Proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated leadership in executing process automation or finance-related transformation initiatives.
- Strong ability to influence and work collaboratively with diverse teams at a senior contributor level.
- Familiarity and practical experience with IFRS and local GAAP in multi-entity, multinational environments.
- Experience leveraging AI and automation tools for productivity enhancement and quality assurance.
Preferred Expertise
- Insight into AI governance frameworks relevant to financial reporting activities.
- Proven track record of applying AI technologies to reengineer workflows achieving measurable gains in efficiency and quality.
- Continuous development in AI skills such as prompt engineering and orchestrating AI agents, with an up-to-date understanding of emerging AI trends.
- Adaptability and commitment to ongoing learning of new tools and methodologies.
- Experience supporting regulatory shifts or business expansion in complex jurisdictions.
- Competence in implementing AI and automation solutions within finance settings ethically and responsibly, including risk, bias, and quality monitoring.
- Direct, hands-on experience in statutory accounting controls and compliance enforcement.
