About the Role

Join the Waste Services team at Sutherland Shire Council as a Side Arm Driver, operating modern waste collection vehicles to service household waste, recycling, and Food Organics and Garden Organics (FOGO) across the region. This permanent full-time position offers a Monday to Friday schedule with a nine-day fortnight roster, promoting an excellent work-life balance within local government.

Responsibilities

  • Operate side arm waste collection vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and pre-start checks.
  • Adhere to designated collection routes and schedules.
  • Identify and report vehicle faults, contamination, and service issues.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to the local community.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base annual salary of $81,044 plus a daily Customer Experience Allowance of $109.20, totaling potential earnings above $106,000 per year.
  • Committed 8% pay increase schedule over the forthcoming two years.

Work Schedule and Environment

  • Work shifts may begin as early as 4:00am Monday through Friday.
