Role Overview
The Shop Supervisor at Spar Express Northbridge is a full-time, on-site position located in Kilmallock, County Limerick. This role involves managing daily store operations such as opening and closing routines, handling cash accurately, and ensuring shelves remain stocked and attractively merchandised. The supervisor leads team members by organizing schedules, delegating tasks, and maintaining a clean, safe, and customer-friendly store environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all aspects of store functioning including cash management and stock replenishment.
- Provide guidance and support to team members, coordinate work shifts, and assist in improving team performance.
- Deliver friendly customer assistance and effectively handle enquiries and complaints.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, health and safety standards, and store cleanliness.
- Monitor sales results and inventory levels, reporting operational needs and potential improvements to management.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Previous retail or customer service experience with a demonstrated ability to deliver courteous and efficient service.
- Experience in supervisory or team leadership roles including shift planning and task management.
- Proficient basic numeracy and cash handling skills with precision in till operations and reconciliation processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills suitable for teamwork and customer relations.
- Capability to maintain merchandising standards, stock rotation, and safely handle goods.
- Dependability and flexibility to work full-time hours that can include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Basic IT proficiency in point-of-sale systems and administrative functions; familiarity with convenience or grocery retail is beneficial.
- A good understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to retail settings and commitment to compliance.
