Shop Floor Associate

Overview

As part of the Safran Group with over 83,000 employees worldwide, we are expanding our operations and seeking a Shop Floor Associate to contribute to our high-quality production standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately label, package, and prepare products for shipment according to company procedures and customer documentation.
• Verify part numbers, specifications, quantities, and identification tags on all products.
• Inspect assemblies meticulously for defects such as damage or irregularities including free-spinning nuts and damaged seals.
• Perform pressure testing to specified levels without exceeding limits and document any defects or nonconformance.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workspace and tools following 5S standards.
• Operate production machinery and basic hand tools with precision.
• Interpret blueprints and engineering drawings with careful attention to detail.
• Manage inventory picking for production line use, making necessary adjustments to meet specifications and quality standards.
• Adhere to Safran Production guidelines, policies, AS9100 Quality Management System requirements, and Ontario Health & Safety legislation.
• Work cooperatively as a team member with flexibility to support various shop floor departments as needed.
• Maintain consistent punctuality and attendance, meeting essential position requirements.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by production management or senior leadership.

Physical Requirements

• Continuous standing during assembly and machine operation.
• Manual dexterity for handling pressure testers, crimpers, cut saws, and other tools.
• Bending, reaching, and lifting up to 30 pounds routinely during tasks.

Candidate Profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent mandatory; technical diploma advantageous.
• Preferably one year of manufacturing experience.
• Strong assembly skills with comprehensive knowledge of assembly techniques.
• Experience using measuring instruments and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across multicultural teams and departments.
• Familiarity with Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality essential.

Schedule and Compensation

• Work Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM; Friday, 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
• Hourly Wage: $19 to $22 per hour.

Additional Information

• Position is a replacement hire.
• Employment will involve working with controlled goods subject to Canada's Controlled Goods Program (CGP) regulations.
• Candidates must be eligible for CGP registration and security assessments.
