Job Overview
We are seeking a Shop Assistant who will help customers find products, maintain fresh and full displays, and work within a team passionate about quality food and community. No previous experience is required as thorough training is provided. We value a friendly demeanor, pride in work, and genuine enthusiasm for fresh food. Many managers have started in this entry-level role.
Responsibilities
- Stock shelves by filling and rotating items to keep displays attractive and fully stocked
- Organize and maintain cleanliness in the storage and back-of-house areas
- Ensure stock freshness by monitoring quality, expiration dates, and applying FIFO practices
- Manage shelf presentation to facilitate easy access and convenience for customers
- Deliver attentive and helpful customer service on the floor
- Uphold food safety, hygiene regulations, and workplace safety policies
- Collaborate with team members to support smooth daily store operations
Candidate Profile
- Passion for food and preferably experience in fresh food retail
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Physically able to perform manual tasks and remain on feet during shifts
- Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively within a team
- Flexible schedule availability for shifts across the week, mornings and evenings
