Overview
Join Starbucks as a Shift Supervisor where you'll support the store manager in managing daily store operations during your shifts. You'll lead the team by organizing tasks, ensuring excellent customer service, delivering quality products, and maintaining a clean and welcoming store atmosphere. Acting according to Starbucks' values, you'll contribute to a workplace known for its positive environment and passionate employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Uphold Starbucks’ culture, values, and mission through honest, respectful actions.
- Maintain composure during busy or challenging times, ensuring standards are met and providing a positive role model for the shift team.
- Continuously assess the store environment and customer needs to anticipate and respond effectively.
- Communicate relevant information to the store manager to help maintain a positive “Third Place” experience for customers.
- Help onboard and train new team members by encouraging successful performance and offering constructive coaching.
- Offer performance feedback to the store manager based on observations during shifts.
- Support a positive team atmosphere by identifying and reporting any morale or performance issues to management.
- Foster a culture of learning by providing timely, clear, and respectful coaching to partners to drive operational excellence.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by prioritizing customer needs and building genuine connections.
- Identify and address customer needs proactively.
- Build strong relationships within the shift team by understanding and managing individual motivations and concerns.
- Manage store operations efficiently during assigned shifts, including opening and closing tasks.
- Adhere to Starbucks policies related to cash handling, safety, and security to ensure partner safety.
- Ensure all shift team members follow proper cash management procedures.
- Monitor baristas to maintain high customer service standards throughout the shift.
- Maintain punctuality and consistent attendance.
- Ensure beverages and food products meet Starbucks’ recipes and presentation standards.
- Comply with health, safety, and sanitation standards for all products.
- Recognize and celebrate individual and team achievements using existing tools and by collaborating with management to develop creative recognition methods.
- Use operational resources to maintain high performance during shifts.
Experience and Skills
- Prior customer service experience in retail or food service settings is essential.
- Capability to supervise and direct team members effectively.
- Quick learner with good oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with retail operations.
- Strong interpersonal abilities and team collaboration skills.
