Overview
Step into a critical role as a Shift Operator responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations at the Kwinana Energy Hub. This position entails working hands-on across various terminal areas such as the Tank Farm, Wharf operations, Utilities, and Wastewater Treatment Plant, following bp's world-class operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion a positive safety culture by identifying hazards, establishing controls, and complying fully with HSSE standards, site rules, and legal requirements.
- Operate equipment and oversee product transfers by pipeline or tankship to maintain safe, compliant, and continuous terminal activity.
- Adapt to flexible operational roles within the team according to need.
- Participate actively in emergency preparedness, including annual firefighting training and emergency drills.
- Support administrative tasks related to Operating Discipline and HSSEQ such as updating procedures, reviewing systems, and facilitating process enhancements.
Candidate Profile
- Hands-on experience in field and control room operations, including control or Work/Permit processes (e.g., permits, isolations, gas testing, safe maintenance). Experience may be from oil and gas or other processing industries.
- Alternatively, tradespeople with relevant industry experience seeking to transition into operational roles.
- Familiarity with major hazard facilities or related environments, including operations and Work/Permit to Work responsibilities.
- Demonstrated organizational, teamwork, and interpersonal capabilities.
- Eagerness to learn, contribute, and support continuous improvement.
- Ability to meet emergency response role requirements, including medical approvals and firefighting training.
Additional Employment Information
- Permanent role working on a 'sportsman roster' featuring a mixture of 12-hour day and night shifts and handovers.
- Minimal travel expected; this is a local position based in Perth with no requirement for remote work travel.
