About the Role
Join bp in Auckland as a Commercial Development Advisor within our Supply & Trading Group, where we are redefining energy to achieve net zero by 2050 or sooner. This pivotal role focuses on embedding an integrated operating culture that ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operations. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing the ANZ Midstream Commercial and Marketing (MC&M) strategy, driving growth and optimization within our Midstream supply business.
Responsibilities
- Lead efforts to identify and evaluate commercial optimization opportunities across Midstream and in collaboration with Supply Trading & Shipping (ST&S) to maximize integrated value.
- Participate in governance related to investment decisions on strategic projects and manage commercial development including economic modeling aligned with bp’s processes.
- Guide and execute the transformation strategy for ANZ Midstream assets in Australia to maintain a competitive supply position.
- Foster integrated decision-making and continuous improvements by collaborating with Midstream and other business segments.
- Support buy/sell negotiations with other oil companies ensuring alignment with long-term strategies.
- Coordinate regulatory reporting submissions for Commerce Commission obligations in New Zealand.
- Lead forecasting and nominations to ensure compliance with the NZ Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) obligations cost-effectively.
Requirements
- Proven ability to build strong partnerships and influence decision-makers across technical and business functions at all levels.
- Deep understanding of Midstream operations and delivering integrated value through ST&S interface.
- Strong commercial insight, analytic capability, and problem-solving orientation focused on results.
- Demonstrated experience in deriving actionable insights from complex data.
- Effective networking skills and ability to collaborate on coordinated project teams.
- Capability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Informal leadership skills fostering development within teams and across the Midstream business.
Working Relationships
- Collaborate closely with direct team members and related teams within Midstream including B2B, Supply, Infrastructure, Logistics, and Pricing.
- Engage with commercial and technical colleagues across the business such as BPEA, Airbp, Marine, M&C, and F&D.
- Work with cross-functional teams including Legal, Finance, Government Affairs, and Strategy & Operations Research.
- Interact with external partners like other oil companies and third-party infrastructure and service providers.
