Shift Leader at One Stop Stores Ltd

About the Role

One Stop Stores Ltd is seeking a dedicated Shift Leader to join our team in Kiveton Park. This role involves overseeing store activities, managing daily shifts, and guiding a team to maintain a clean, well-stocked environment that continually exceeds customer expectations. You will actively improve customer service by coaching staff on the floor and implementing practical solutions to enhance store performance. Ensuring safety and security for both colleagues and customers is a vital responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily store tasks to provide a seamless shopping experience for the local community.
• Handle store opening, closing, and duty cover, making decisions that prioritize customer satisfaction, team welfare, and safety.
• Serve as the point of contact for operational matters in the Store Manager's absence.
• Support seasonal, community, and charity events, fostering a welcoming and inclusive store atmosphere.
• Maintain store cleanliness, presentation, and ensure product shelves are fully replenished prioritizing customer needs.
• Ensure pricing and shelf labels adhere to quality standards and take swift action to correct any overcharges.
• Manage customer queues effectively and coordinate colleague breaks to align with store activity.
• Communicate company information promptly and effectively to all team members.
• Innovate ways to simplify store operations and share improvement ideas with management.
• Deliver excellent customer service by adapting to individual needs and resolving queries positively.
• Recognize and celebrate colleagues who provide exceptional service.
• Address and escalate team concerns and manage staffing to cover absences quickly.
• Act as a Keyholder, including responding to alarm call outs to protect store security.
• Conduct return-to-work interviews and monitor absence in line with company policies.
• Build strong relationships with management support teams to seek guidance and coaching when needed.
• If the store includes a Post Office Local, you will be required to pass financial and criminal background checks as part of your duties.
