Qualifications and Requirements
- At least some high school education completed.
- Preferably some prior experience in operations management.
- Food safety knowledge with local certifications like Food Handler required at the applicant's expense.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Employees often work in hot, steamy conditions near steam tables and food vapors. Workstations may be confined, requiring standing for extended periods. Tasks involve preparing both hot and cold meals, using specialized kitchen utensils like Chinese chef knives, and operating equipment efficiently without compromising accuracy. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand continuously for about four hours, and reach across standard counters is necessary. Environments are typically noisy with limited storage and high shelving. Adaptability to a fast-moving workplace, strong verbal communication skills, conflict management, and the capacity to adjust to shifting priorities are essential.
