Job description

Role Overview

This full-time position based in Killarney involves flexible working hours, including opening and closing shifts. The Shift Lead is responsible for overseeing the store's fill operation to ensure a sales floor that is fully prepared for business. This role requires leading the team in absence of the Colleague Manager and managing resources to optimize service, sales, and stock replenishment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the coordination of in-store operations to ensure the sales floor is ready and meeting standards before opening.
  • Coach and motivate colleagues in the One Best Way methodology to drive productivity and efficiency.
  • Manage team allocation to maintain a swift and customer-friendly payment process.
  • Oversee the efficient execution of daily operational tasks across all store sections, adhering to timing requirements.
  • Ensure the store environment remains clean, safe, and visually appealing throughout shifts.
  • Foster an inclusive and positive team atmosphere.
  • Exemplify outstanding customer service and model M&S behaviours and expectations.
  • Support Colleague Managers by providing constructive feedback on team members to encourage high performance.
  • Assist nearby stores operationally if needed.
  • Act as a key holder, responding to call-outs when required.
  • Responsible for tasks related to opening and closing, including vehicle receipt management, temperature monitoring, reporting operational issues via helpdesks, cash handling, and compliance with TSL standards in off-peak hours.
