Role Overview

This full-time position demands flexibility to cover opening and closing times, leading key operational activities on the sales floor. The Shift Lead takes charge of coordinating resources to ensure a store ready to trade effectively while stepping in during the absence of the Colleague Manager.

Primary Responsibilities

• Oversee the store floor fill operation, ensuring sales areas are prepared for trade.
• Coach team members on 'One Best Way' methods, boosting productivity before store openings.
• Allocate staff efficiently to guarantee fast payment processing.
• Ensure daily operational procedures are executed on time and correctly throughout all store zones.
• Lead efforts to maintain a clean, safe, and well-presented retail environment.
• Foster an inclusive, positive team atmosphere that encourages collaboration among colleagues.
• Serve as an exemplar for exceptional Customer Service standards.
• Demonstrate M&S behavioural standards and uphold colleague expectations store-wide.
• Assist Colleague Managers by providing observations to support high performance and recognizing excellence among staff.
• Provide operational support to neighboring stores when required.
• Hold key responsibilities including answering call outs as a key holder.
• Manage opening and closing building tasks such as vehicle receipts, temperature monitoring, logging operational issues with support desks, cash handling, and TSL compliance during peripheral hours.
