Job description

Overview

We are looking for a skilled Payroll & Finance Executive responsible for managing comprehensive payroll processing in Ireland, along with supporting broader finance, compliance, and reporting functions. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth technical expertise in payroll, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to collaborate effectively across HR, Finance, and external payroll partners. Holding an IPASS qualification is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute, verify, and reconcile weekly and monthly payrolls for Irish employees.
  • Handle a significant volume of payroll amendments each cycle, ensuring precision and regulatory adherence.
  • Address employee inquiries related to PAYE, USC, PRSI, BIK, leave entitlements, and third-party deductions.
  • Perform manual payroll calculations when necessary.
  • Establish and manage payroll deductions such as pensions, TaxSaver, Cycle to Work, VHI, loans, and savings schemes.
  • Manage defined benefit and defined contribution pension payrolls for active and deferred participants.
  • Engage with pension trustees/providers and resolve pension-related queries.
  • Carry out annual pensioner existence verifications and related control measures.
  • Coordinate VHI renewals, process monthly adjustments, and update premiums accordingly.
  • Prepare documentation such as salary certificates, social welfare forms, mortgage, and loss of earnings paperwork.
  • Submit statutory payroll and finance filings, including ROS ERR, VIES, CSO reports, Kantar sales reports, and other obligatory submissions.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Irish Revenue requirements, employment legislation, and internal governance policies.
  • Plan and execute payroll audits, maintaining documentation of payroll risks and controls.
  • Produce weekly and monthly payroll journals for standard and accrual entries.
  • Upload payroll journal entries into SAP or equivalent ERP systems.
  • Perform reconciliations of payroll general ledger accounts and balance sheets utilizing Blackline or similar software.
  • Support statutory pension and payroll audits and collaborate on year-end finance activities with management accounting teams.
  • Collaborate closely with central HR, Recruitment, Finance, Banking, and external service providers.
  • Manage preparation and distribution of monthly third-party payments, remittance advices, and backup documentation.
  • Provide operational support and supervision during absences of the Payroll Manager and other team members.
