Position Overview

We have an opening at our Rhyl garage for an experienced and motivated Shift Fitter. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role focuses on maintaining our PCV (Passenger Carrying Vehicle) fleet safely and to high standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform servicing and repairs according to Arriva and DVSA standards.
• Drive continuous improvements in vehicle condition standards.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT inspections.
• Diagnose faults to ensure vehicle reliability and upkeep meet Arriva’s standards, which exceed DVSA requirements.
• Work shifts over 5 days in a 7-day week, Sunday through Saturday, within the 05:00 to 17:30 timeframe.

Candidate Requirements

• Expertise in PSV or HGV maintenance backed by recognized qualifications, such as Level 3 NVQ.
• Ability to safely work independently following established standards and procedures.
• Some electrical knowledge is preferable but not essential.
• Possession of a PCV license is a plus but not mandatory.
• Capability to inspect vehicles for scheduled maintenance; training will be provided. Having IRTEC accreditation is advantageous.
