Overview
We are looking for a dependable Shear Operator to join our manufacturing team at Scilltech Professional Services located in Mississauga, ON. This full-time role involves precise operation of shear machinery to cut sheet metal according to detailed work orders and production standards, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality assurance.
Key Duties
- Set up and operate shear machines for accurate sheet metal cutting aligned with given specifications and work orders.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and related production documentation to ensure accuracy.
- Use precision measuring tools including calipers, tape measures, and squares to verify materials and finished parts.
- Conduct routine troubleshooting and basic machine adjustments as needed to maintain performance.
- Inspect completed pieces to confirm dimensional accuracy and quality compliance.
- Manage production paperwork and maintain precise records.
- Handle and move materials safely and efficiently within the workspace.
- Keep the work area organized, clean, and compliant with safety protocols.
- Adhere strictly to company safety policies and quality guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve daily production goals.
Candidate Profile
- Previous hands-on experience operating shear equipment within metal fabrication or manufacturing settings.
- Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints and technical schematics.
- Skilled in using measurement tools such as calipers, tape measures, and squares for precision checks.
- Possesses strong mechanical problem-solving skills and an eye for detail.
- Capable of performing machine adjustments and troubleshooting independently.
- Dedicated to maintaining high standards of safety and product quality.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work autonomously as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing workplace.
Additional Information
