Role Overview

As a Service Associate - Houseperson, you will play a vital role in enhancing guest experiences through dedicated support to Room Attendants and engineering teams, maintaining hotel cleanliness and care while balancing the satisfaction of colleagues, guests, and ownership.

Key Responsibilities

• Exemplify integrity and deliver a 5-Star hospitality experience reflective of Shangri-La's warm and caring family culture.
• Foster positive communication with internal teams to promptly address guest service needs, maintenance issues, and concerns.
• Adhere strictly to all hotel policies, standards, and operational procedures.
• Maintain and restore public areas, back-of-house, and assigned locations to pristine standards using approved products and equipment.
• Manage waste disposal, storeroom upkeep, and handle janitorial duties related to special cleaning assignments.
• Respond efficiently to guest and internal requests with priority and timeliness.
• Provide assistance in the laundry area and support other departments as needed, taking on additional related tasks as required.
• Follow environmental guidelines conscientiously.
• Promote teamwork, safe work behaviors, open dialogue, respect, sincerity, helpfulness, courtesy, and humility in the workplace.

Candidate Profile

• Deliver exceptional service with sincerity, warmth, and an outwardly gracious demeanor.
• Exhibit attention to detail and maintain high cleanliness standards in fast-paced settings.
• Possess well-groomed appearance and prioritize personal hygiene.
• Understand and safely handle cleaning chemicals; physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, and pushing or pulling equipment up to 250 lbs during an 8-hour shift.
• Learn and uphold Shangri-La's and Toronto hotel's housekeeping standards, programs, and policies.
• Self-driven to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Communicate effectively in English in reading, writing, and speaking, including understanding workplace policies and safety information.
• Manage multiple priorities and resolve issues calmly and respectfully.
• Demonstrate emotional maturity, integrity, ethical conduct, and professional responsibility.
• Proficiency with all departmental technology systems.
• Bring at least two years of experience in similar roles within luxury hotel environments or service organizations.
• Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Eligible to work legally in Canada.
