About the Role
Join Sienna Senior Living at Aspira Quinte Gardens Retirement Living in Belleville, Ontario, as a full-time Server dedicated to enhancing the daily lives of residents through exceptional dining service. This role offers shifts from 11:00 AM to 7:00 or 7:30 PM following a bi-weekly rotating schedule, and a wage of $18.45 per hour. In this position, forming meaningful relationships is encouraged, where knowing residents beyond their names is part of the workplace culture.
Responsibilities
- Deliver hospitality-focused dining services using the Ready, Set, Serve Program, including setting, serving, and clearing tables.
- Assist chefs with food preparation and presentation tasks.
- Maintain rigorous standards for hygiene and sanitation as mandated by health authorities.
- Encourage and record a la carte and wine sales per established procedures.
- Adhere to provincial regulations, food and beverage department policies, and ORCA standards to keep the dining area ready to operate.
- Participate in emergency drills and ongoing education related to emergency preparedness.
- Comply with organizational Health and Safety policies and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Position Requirements
- Possess Smart Serve certification or Serve It Right (SIRS) designation for locations in Saskatchewan.
- Have at least one year of experience in dining room service.
- Preferred Safe Food Handling certification.
- Experience working with seniors and understanding of the aging process is an asset.
- Demonstrated customer service skills accommodating diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada, including valid work/study permits.
- Successful clearance of Vulnerable Sector and Criminal Records checks.
- Awareness that artificial intelligence may be used in applicant screening.
