Senior/Principal Software Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior/Principal Software Engineer to join our IT services firm based in Mumbai. This role involves co-leading the complete design and development cycle of high-volume, low-latency applications catering to real-time event-driven systems. You will oversee senior engineers, shape software architecture, and collaborate cross-functionally to identify complexities and risks in platform development.

Key Responsibilities

• Co-lead design and development efforts for scalable, real-time event-based applications
• Manage senior engineers and define architectural strategies for platform modules and features
• Deliver highly available and high-performance platforms using microservices architecture
• Detect and resolve bottlenecks and inefficiencies in both production and non-production environments
• Stay updated on open-source projects and technology trends to incorporate improvements
• Translate business needs and production specs into technical requirements and detailed designs
• Maintain hands-on involvement and practical approach to technology and software development
• Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to build scalable products

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related fields
• 8 to 10 years of experience developing scalable distributed enterprise applications using Java/J2EE, JPA, Spring framework, and RESTful APIs
• Strong Java programming capabilities
• Experience managing and optimizing large-scale data stores like MySQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch
• Familiarity deploying applications and using cloud managed services (AWS, Azure)
• Preferred experience with frontend technologies including HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, AngularJS, React, and D3.js
• Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals such as data structures, algorithms, and software design principles
• Proven leadership in driving large projects within Agile development lifecycle environments

Additional Information

This is a full-time position based onsite in Mumbai. The role offers an annual salary ranging from 2,000,000 to 3,500,000 INR depending on experience and expertise.
