Senior Workforce Planner

Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Workforce Planner to lead the comprehensive execution of labour supply chain activities across vital fulfillment centre locations. This newly created, influential role is central to Amazon Australia's rapid expansion, providing a unique chance to shape the workforce supporting our growth.

The position combines strategic workforce planning with direct involvement in recruitment event management, agency coordination, and collaboration with business partners. The successful candidate will devise and implement solutions that meet operational goals, efficiently manage significant workload autonomously, foresee challenges, and deliver outcomes in a dynamic environment.

Comfortable both with analyzing labor demand forecasts and conversion metrics, as well as managing large-scale hiring events, the person in this role will act as a trusted consultant to site leadership while bridging HR, Operations, and external staffing agencies.

Work will be based at one of the fulfilment centres in Bella Vista, Horsley Park, Eastern Creek, or Moorebank, with up to 25% travel within the assigned region.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Operations and Finance teams to align labour strategies and plans and proactively mitigate risk
• Track labour market trends and provide forward-looking insights impacting business operations
• Develop strategies to optimize recruitment metrics including candidate cycle time, conversion rates, and applicant funnel benchmarks
• Lead the planning, execution, and auditing of New Hiring Events (NHEs) based on labour forecasts to ensure timely staffing
• Oversee onboarding processes and coordinate with recruitment teams for associate hiring aligned with demand
• Manage supplier relationships including KPIs, standard operational practices, and forecasting accuracy
• Partner with staffing agencies to enhance sourcing channels and cultivate talent communities
• Lead engagement programs such as New Hire Buddy initiatives, mentoring, Voice of Employee forums, Round Tables, and Rewards & Recognition
• Champion continuous process improvements and innovate workforce systems

Required Experience and Skills

• Background in workforce planning and execution
• Proven experience influencing senior stakeholders
• Proficient with analytical tools for deep data analysis and reporting
• Vendor and agency management experience
• Familiarity with technical support, engineering, or operational settings
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and related applications

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with financial or business analysis
• Background in financial planning or commercial analysis
