Job Overview
We are searching for an experienced VMware and OpenShift Administrator to maintain and enhance our container orchestration platform. This remote role based in Australia offers occasional on-site vendor support visits with travel and accommodation expenses covered. The position demands collaboration with engineering and operational teams to ensure seamless infrastructure function and facilitate continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and sustain VMware and OpenShift clusters located on-premises.
- Monitor cluster health and resolve any operational issues swiftly.
- Administer user permissions and access within the OpenShift environment.
- Design and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated application deployment.
- Partner with developers to optimize containerized applications on OpenShift.
- Develop and keep updated documentation detailing OpenShift configurations and operational procedures.
- Remain informed of the latest advancements and best practices related to OpenShift and Kubernetes.
- Work alongside security teams to enforce robust security measures for containerized applications.
- Lead conversions from VMware environments to OpenShift.
- Effectively manage VMware infrastructure components.
Candidate Profile and Skills
- At least four years of hands-on experience as an OpenShift Administrator or in a similar capacity.
- Deep understanding of OpenShift and Kubernetes system architecture and components.
- Proficient with container technologies such as Docker.
- Skillful in scripting languages including Bash, Python, or Groovy.
- Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and automation tools.
- Solid grasp of networking principles and configurations within container environments.
- Strong analytical skills with an aptitude for resolving challenges under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Relevant certifications in OpenShift, Kubernetes, or VMware are advantageous.
