Senior User Experience Researcher

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior User Experience Researcher to take full ownership of research initiatives for one or more product areas, while also guiding junior team members on research techniques. This role demands the ability to transform complex product and business challenges into well-defined research projects, distill insights into persuasive narratives, and ensure these insights influence product and design decisions. The position requires complete accountability from initial scoping to implementation of findings in the assigned research charter.

Key Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years practical experience in user research, with proven success leading intricate projects independently, from scoping through to delivery.
• Experience working in consumer or marketplace product environments, demonstrating how research has been linked to tangible business and product outcomes.
• Familiarity with foundational product development stages (0-1 builds), involving undefined user needs and problem spaces rather than just feature-level research.
• Ability to effectively manage ambiguity by deconstructing broad and unclear issues into organized, cohort-specific research strategies.
• Strong qualitative research skills complemented by the ability to incorporate quantitative and analytics data into comprehensive research syntheses.

Desirable Skills

• Informal experience mentoring or reviewing the work of junior researchers, even without an official mentoring role.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in fields such as Design, Psychology, Social Sciences, or related disciplines. However, significant quality work experience is prioritized over formal education.
