Job description
About the Role
Porter is seeking an experienced Product Manager to take comprehensive ownership of a product charter. The role requires full accountability for objectives and key results (OKRs) ranging from identifying problems to roadmap development, delivery, iteration, and assessing business outcomes. This position demands a high degree of autonomy, managing several discovery initiatives simultaneously, overseeing a roadmap spanning 2 to 3 quarters, and leading cross-functional teams to achieve results.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the product roadmap and OKRs for the Intercity PartLoad product charter, planning 2 to 3 quarters ahead.
- Conduct product-market fit (PMF) discovery through hypothesis validation, qualitative research, and pilot programs; make informed product decisions even with limited data, and pivot effectively as new information emerges.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the entire business including operations, support, and market factors; focus on critical business metrics, identify problem areas proactively, and utilize product levers to address them.
- Produce detailed product requirement documents (PRDs) including problem definition, specifications, launch plans, instrumentation, and impact estimation.
- Lead multiple simultaneous problem and solution discovery projects; integrate insights from varied data and research approaches.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, design, business, and data teams to ensure timely delivery; anticipate and clear any roadblocks in execution.
- Implement a metrics-driven system to monitor both delivery efficiency and product impact.
- Manage go-to-market strategies and ensure operational readiness during product launches.
What We Are Looking For
- Between 4 to 6 years of product management experience, with a minimum of 2 years focused on B2C consumer-facing products; experience in PMF stages or early scale-up environments is advantageous along with experience managing scaled products.
- Demonstrated capability to fully own a product charter and be accountable for defined OKRs.
- Expertise in product discovery—able to synthesize information from multiple research methodologies and data sources concurrently.
- Strong data literacy, including defining sharp metrics, sizing impact, and making data-driven prioritization decisions; comfortable making confident calls even when quantitative signals are limited.
- Experienced in planning product roadmaps and managing backlogs with a 2 to 3 quarter foresight.
- Proven ability to influence diverse teams across engineering, design, and business functions without direct authority.
- Clear, structured communication skills for interacting with stakeholders at various organizational levels.
- Knowledge and experience with A/B testing, iterative development, and hypothesis-driven discovery, especially in environments with limited data.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience launching products from zero to one or during the PMF stage with direct responsibility for hypothesis setting and making pivot decisions.
- Background in product-led B2C companies such as marketplaces, mobility services, fintech, or OTT platforms, or experience working in high-growth startup environments.
