About the Role
Porter invites experienced product leaders to join as a Group Product Manager focusing on the Order Life Cycle (OLC) platform based in Bengaluru, India. This critical domain orchestrates the complete customer journey from order placement to delivery, including tracking, cancellations, payments, ratings, and partner navigation. This role transcends feature delivery, requiring a visionary leader with strong customer empathy and platform architecture skills to develop scalable systems supporting millions of transactions.
Responsibilities
- Craft the product strategy and roadmap for the OLC domain spanning 2 to 4 quarters.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering to advance OLC architecture, managing domain boundaries, state management, inter-platform contracts, and ensuring scalability.
- Serve as OLC's representative in cross-functional architectural decisions influencing Pricing, Allocation, Locations, Payments, and related systems.
- Establish continuous product discovery by engaging with customers, analyzing support feedback, conducting field immersions, and accompanying driver ride-alongs.
- Lead execution with a disciplined approach to problem-solving, experimentation, and defining clear success metrics.
- Monitor and optimize key business/user metrics including ETA adherence, cancellation rates, wait time breaches, support contacts, and partner experience indicators.
Candidate Profile
- 7 to 12 years of product management experience focusing on high-scale platform products.
- Background in logistics, mobility, marketplace, consumer internet, or comparable product-driven tech firms.
- Proven success in developing platform systems impacting customer-facing experiences directly.
- Strong technical acumen, comfortable discussing architectural topics such as state machines, event-driven systems, event sourcing, synchronous versus asynchronous architectures, microservices, and domain boundaries.
- Experience managing product managers or independently handling large, complex platform initiatives.
- Able to navigate ambiguity and shifting platform boundaries while preserving clarity and speed in execution.
