Role Overview
The Senior Treasury Accountant position based in Port Louis, Mauritius, involves providing expert treasury accounting services across assigned countries. You will ensure accurate handling of bank accounting, treasury reporting, reconciliations, and compliance with DHL's Treasury policies. Supporting the Treasury Manager, you will help enhance operational performance. As a senior expert, you will also train colleagues and contribute to process improvements within the Treasury Tower.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily treasury operations for designated countries, ensuring prompt processing and recording of treasury transactions.
- Identify and address treasury exceptions and outstanding items promptly.
- Facilitate timely clearing of reconciling entries and investigate bank discrepancies.
- Monitor and resolve aged reconciling items efficiently.
- Ensure adherence to DHL Treasury Policies and internal control procedures.
- Manage banking mandates, signatories, and access rights diligently.
- Support annual bank account audits and reviews.
- Contribute to the implementation and enhancement of treasury controls.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for treasury activities.
- Prepare treasury reports and key performance indicator dashboards.
- Serve as the primary contact after the Treasury Manager for country finance teams on treasury-related issues.
- Communicate with banks and external partners as needed.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Controlling, and Shared Services teams.
- Assist in regional and global treasury projects.
- Function as the senior escalation point for Treasury Accountants.
- Coach and develop junior treasury staff.
- Support Treasury Manager with resource planning and workload allocation.
- Promote knowledge sharing and continuous process improvements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Treasury, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent are preferred.
- Between 3 to 5 years of relevant finance experience is required.
