Senior Technical Program Manager - Data Center Infrastructure

Overview

Join Google’s Data Center Delivery and Engineering team, a multidisciplinary group focused on planning, designing, and constructing highly efficient data centers globally. This role involves leading infrastructure-related programs and collaborating with various technical experts to design, build, and scale sustainable data centers that power Google’s services.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with partners, clients, and stakeholders to formulate strategic plans and long-term objectives, initiating programs aligned with business needs and leading them through their execution.
• Supervise multiple concurrent programs, coordinate engineering teams, and maintain development momentum for the deployment and delivery of data center infrastructure and related services.
• Prepare comprehensive project documentation, process flows, presentations, and status reports to keep all parties informed.
• Apply technical insight to guide project progression, review technologies, critically evaluate proposals, and foster consensus among stakeholders.
• Evaluate service and system performance data to generate actionable insights and improvement plans.
• Act as the escalation contact for external collaborators while synchronizing efforts with global internal teams.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 8 years of experience in program management.
• 8 or more years involved in designing, constructing, or overseeing infrastructure projects.
• Competence in producing infrastructure designs and construction drawings for telecom, electrical, and mechanical systems related to data center networking areas.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with data center construction and fit-out programs.
• Proven management of data center infrastructure projects and related fit-out activities.
• Strong project management skills suitable for fast-paced, evolving work environments, including effective prioritization and time management under ambiguity.
• Knowledge of civil construction for greenfield developments, relevant construction permits, legal requirements, and local industry norms.
• Basic financial acumen applied to project and program management.
