Role Overview

Based in Berlin, Munich, or London, this hybrid position requires a presence in the office two days per week, with the remainder of work remotely. As a Senior Staff Product Designer, you will spearhead the development and enhancement of Personio’s HR platform, owning the strategic direction of your product domain and collaborating with cross-disciplinary stakeholders to deliver high-quality, user-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage full work-streams by setting clear objectives and strategic planning.
• Craft inclusive and well-balanced design strategies that combine ambitious, research-backed targets with practical feasibility.
• Produce detailed, high-fidelity prototypes, including those augmented by hand-coding or AI tools, to communicate product visions.
• Detect emerging design patterns and develop reusable frameworks and abstractions to unify design efforts across projects.
• Foster a culture of design excellence by mentoring peers and providing constructive feedback to elevate team performance.
• Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and other teams to design seamless end-to-end customer experiences.
• Influence product strategy at multiple organizational levels including team, group, or product line.

Candidate Profile

• Excellence demonstrated in at least one key design area such as product thinking, interaction design, execution, or craftsmanship.
• Proficiency with cutting-edge high-fidelity and AI-driven prototype development tools.
• Experience in creating reusable frameworks, tools, processes, or rituals that enhance team workflows and are embraced organization-wide.
• Proven leadership in managing design initiatives that span multiple teams, departments, or the entire company.
• Ability to identify skill gaps, initiate quality improvement measures, and elevate organizational design standards.
• Track record of delivering significant, multi-phase product outcomes impacting business success.
• Ability to work autonomously with accountability, make mature decisions in ambiguous contexts, and clarify complex challenges.
• Hands-on experience integrating AI to optimize design workflows, with sound judgment on when to leverage or override AI assistance.
