Senior Solution Architect

About the Role

Situated in Dubai, UAE, this Senior Solution Architect position seeks an individual with over a decade of experience to create robust, secure, reliable, and high-performing applications. The successful candidate will partner with the Head of Architecture and collaborate closely with the Delivery Head or Lead within relevant business domains to develop architectural solutions that balance functionality, user experience, performance, resilience, and security effectively.

Primary Responsibilities

• Architect and design applications that are resilient, reliable, and secure, focusing on microservices and API ecosystems.
• Establish and uphold architecture standards, best practices, and guidelines.
• Formulate comprehensive design patterns and high-level architectures spanning backend, frontend, and mobile platforms, along with APIs, message brokers, event streams, and microservices.
• Develop solutions suited for containerized and cloud-native environments.
• Evaluate and advise on suitable architecture principles and patterns, clearly communicating the associated benefits and trade-offs.
• Engage with Agile teams including Tribes and Squads during planning, refinement, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate across departments and subsidiaries to align architectural choices with business and technical necessities.
• Coordinate between functional and technical units to ensure successful solution delivery.
• Integrate cybersecurity and information security best practices within architecture and design.
• Design with a strong focus on reliability, resilience, security, and performance.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• More than 10 years of experience in creating end-to-end design patterns and high-level designs for backend, frontend, and mobile applications.
• Extensive experience in domains such as banking, accounting, payments, lending, and credit products.
• Exposure to corporate banking is beneficial.
• Proven involvement in leading or contributing to at least three projects focused on resilient, reliable, and secure applications within microservices and API-driven ecosystems.
• Thorough understanding of APIs, message brokers, event streams, microservices architectures, containerized environments, and cloud-native infrastructure.
• Strong skills in embedding cybersecurity and information security within solution architecture.
• Experience working with Agile frameworks and familiarity with Agile deliverables like Features, Epics, Stories, and Acceptance Criteria.
• A demonstrated eagerness to acquire knowledge and adapt to emerging functional domains.
