Role Overview
This position invites candidates to join a dynamic team dedicated to protecting Dolby's intellectual property and minimizing software vulnerabilities across products. As a Senior Software Security Engineer, you will actively contribute to shaping product security by developing robust IP protection methods and exploring vulnerabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough Threat Analysis and Risk Assessments focusing on IP protection and software vulnerabilities in Dolby’s products.
- Design, implement, and validate mechanisms that protect Dolby’s intellectual property.
- Engage in exploitability research on identified vulnerabilities to inform mitigation strategies.
- Operate efficiently within embedded system environments spanning operating systems, applications, and hardware interfaces.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- A minimum of five years of professional experience in software security.
- Advanced programming skills in C++, C, and Python.
- Hands-on experience with at least one cryptographic library or implementation such as crypto++, mbedTLS, or OpenSSL.
- Deep understanding of secure processing techniques and Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs).
- Proven expertise in software reverse engineering, including knowledge of executable binary formats.
- Comprehensive awareness of common software vulnerabilities and exploitation techniques like buffer overflows and use-after-free bugs.
- Thorough knowledge of operating system internals.
- Proficiency using various debugging and analysis tools, such as disassemblers, decompilers, debuggers, emulators, and virtual machines.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
- Desirable: Experience participating in Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions, research in security, or hobbies in DIY electronics and robotics.

This position is based at Dolby’s office located at 77 Sir John Rogerson's Quay, Block C, Grand Canal Docklands, Dublin, Ireland.
