About the Role

Join Linktree as a Senior Software Engineer on the Linkapps team responsible for crafting the integrations that enable creators to seamlessly connect their digital content within their Linktree. These integrations power features like music players, stores, mailing list signups, and ticket links. You'll engage deeply with third-party APIs and SDKs, navigating partner contracts to build resilient integrations that function reliably even when external services falter. This role offers hands-on individual contributor work in a small, distributed team, close to both partners and the creator experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy comprehensive full-stack features spanning from partner-facing services to the user interface seen by creators.
• Manage end-to-end third-party integrations by assessing APIs and SDKs, architecting solutions, delivering features, and maintaining operational stability.
• Advance and refine the composable Link Apps system to streamline future integrations and enhance scalability while avoiding unnecessary complexity.
• Design and uphold cloud-based services, APIs, and infrastructure with keen focus on authentication, rate limiting, version control, and graceful failure modes.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and partnerships to evaluate technical feasibility and maximize value for creators.
• Employ instrumentation and analytics to monitor launched features, shaping decisions on prioritization and iteration based on data insights.
• Innovate with AI-assisted tools in development processes and explore opportunities to embed AI within integrations themselves.
• Contribute positively to a strong engineering culture emphasizing clear communication, thorough code reviews, and continuous codebase improvement.

Candidate Profile

• A minimum of five years' experience in professional software engineering focused on delivering full-stack production features.
• Proficient full-stack expertise with technologies including TypeScript, Node.js, React, relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL), GraphQL, and AWS.
• Demonstrated experience owning production integrations with third-party APIs and SDKs, managing challenges such as authentication, rate limiting, versioning, and service outages.
• Adept at working effectively within large, pre-existing codebases, exercising good judgment on changes and impact.
• Skilled in designing services and APIs for cloud-based, service-oriented systems.
• Experienced with AI-assisted development platforms (e.g., Claude, Cursor, Codex), knowing how to effectively prompt, evaluate, and refine AI outputs.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity to transform loosely defined partner opportunities into shipped, measurable features.
• Commitment to craftsmanship, noticing details such as empty states, error messaging, and loading feedback proactively.
• Effective asynchronous communicator, able to collaborate with diverse stakeholders across multiple time zones.
• Preference for candidates based in Australia, including Melbourne, Sydney, or remote locations within the country.
