Role Overview
The position of Senior Backend Engineer within the Storage Virtualization Team focuses on constructing a distributed, fault-tolerant storage solution for the company's hyperscale cloud. Responsibilities include developing high-performance block and file system storage capable of achieving sub-millisecond latency, millions of IOPS, and throughput measured in terabytes per second, resilient to hardware failures.
Primary Duties
- Implement virtualization components like virtio-blk, virtio-fs, QEMU, and vhost-user concentrating on performance-critical input/output pathways.
- Develop high-throughput networking solutions enabling VM-to-storage transport using TCP and RoCEv2 (RDMA) protocols.
- Work on storage infrastructure aspects including data replication, consensus algorithms, self-healing functionalities, and data migration processes.
Candidate Requirements
- A minimum of six years of professional experience in software engineering.
- Expertise in the C++ programming language.
- Strong foundation in algorithms and data structures.
- Basic understanding of operating system components such as I/O systems, memory management, and process scheduling.
- Proven ability to write dependable, sustainable code and troubleshoot intricate system challenges.
- Excellent teamwork skills with proficiency in English communication.
