Key Responsibilities

• Recruit and grow a high-performing engineering team in India, managing the full hiring process.
• Lead and mentor engineering managers and senior engineers, establishing clear career progression paths.
• Cultivate a collaborative engineering culture emphasizing ownership, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Represent engineering leadership locally as a trusted figure within the India organization.
• Integrate the India team as a core part of the global engineering division, not just an offshore unit.
• Collaborate with global engineering leads to align roadmaps, team structures, and working practices across regions.
• Drive engineering process improvements throughout the software development lifecycle, including planning, execution, deployment, and incident management.
• Implement best practices such as code review standards, testing methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and release management.
• Measure and enhance engineering performance via metrics like velocity, quality, deployment frequency, and lead times.
• Oversee operational readiness and lead responses to production incidents.
• Provide technical leadership, ensuring architecture aligns with scalability and platform strategy.
• Engage in and guide technical design reviews, particularly on complex issues.
• Maintain technical credibility with hands-on knowledge of C#/.NET development, Azure Cloud architecture, and Azure DevOps workflows.
• Identify and mitigate technical debt hindering delivery and reliability.
• Own delivery commitments for the India engineering team, ensuring feature releases are timely and high-quality.
• Collaborate with Product Management to transform roadmap priorities into actionable engineering plans.
• Manage risks, dependencies, and blockers proactively, with clear communication and escalation practices.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Over 15 years in software engineering with a minimum of 5 years in leadership roles such as Engineering Manager, Senior Manager, or Director.
• Strong technical foundation as a former software engineer with credible expertise in technical discussions and decisions.
• Proficient in C# and .NET development technologies.
• Well-versed in Microsoft Azure cloud services and Azure DevOps for continuous integration, pipelines, and engineering workflows.
• Experienced with SQL Server database platform including schema design, query optimization, and operational management.
• Experience integrating Agentic AI technologies into production environments, such as AI-powered agents in product features or pipeline automation.
• Proven ability to build and scale engineering teams in a fast-paced SaaS environment.
• Demonstrated success leading globally distributed engineering teams and facilitating cross-timezone collaboration.
• Strong command of agile methodologies and modern software development processes.
• Excellent communication skills, effectively engaging both senior leadership and junior engineers.

Preferred Experience

• Experience launching a new engineering hub or center of excellence.
• Background in platform or product engineering within B2B SaaS companies.
• Familiarity with data engineering, integrations, and API-first product approaches.
• Knowledge of large-scale engineering recruitment in India.
• Understanding of compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and GDPR relevant to SaaS.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is ₹5,000,000 to ₹7,000,000 annually, along with a 20% bonus.
