About the Role
Join MathWorks' Physical Modeling team, one of the fastest expanding groups dedicated to developing simulation technology. This team creates core simulation software for Simscape, a leading physical modeling product utilized by engineers globally. The role requires a passion for solving complex software engineering challenges, designing thoughtful solutions, and delivering high-quality simulation products. Experience in diving deeply into numerical and symbolic algorithms applied to physical system simulations is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual and collaborative research to develop novel methods to simulate complex physical models efficiently and reliably.
- Manage the full software development cycle, including feature design, architectural planning, and coding implementation.
- Engage with application engineers and marketing teams to understand and incorporate customer requirements into product development.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, candidates should have:
- A bachelor's degree paired with six years of professional experience, or a master's degree with at least three years professional experience, or a PhD or equivalent professional background.
- Proficiency with simulation modeling tools.
- Strong expertise in C++ or other object-oriented programming languages.
- Hands-on experience analyzing or designing engineering systems such as fluid, drivetrain, control, or electrical systems.
- Knowledge of numerical analysis algorithms and relevant tools.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with BOOST libraries, Standard Template Library (STL), and Software Design Patterns.
- Experience working with Simulink or Simscape platforms.
- A solid foundation in advanced mathematics is advantageous.
