Senior Software Engineer (Python)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer specialized in Python to design, develop, deploy, and support Python-based services and integrations that enhance internal platforms and SaaS products used by business teams. This role emphasizes secure, scalable, cost-effective solutions deployed on AWS cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design robust, efficient, and secure Python services and integration solutions with mindful cost management.
• Interpret and convert business needs into technical strategies, project estimates, and delivery timelines.
• Create detailed technical specifications while mentoring junior developers and collaborating with external contributors.
• Manage feature development end-to-end, including deployment and ongoing production support.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to define project scope, prioritize tasks, and assess technical viability.
• Enhance system reliability and maintainability by implementing thorough testing, monitoring, and automation processes.
• Produce comprehensive technical documentation supporting both development and operational activities.
• Maintain clear communication with project teams regarding progress, risks, and decision trade-offs.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in Python with a track record of delivering production-ready services.
• Hands-on experience designing or managing AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Proficient in SQL and working with relational database systems.
• Background in financial services or regulated environments, developing trustworthy and compliant systems.
• Strong analytical skills to resolve complex challenges and convert unclear requirements into actionable outputs.
• Effective stakeholder engagement skills, capable of working with both business and technical teams.
• Proactive ownership mentality, excellent prioritization, and consistent follow-through on tasks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication proficiency.

Preferred Skills

• Experience using AWS Glue, Amazon Managed Workflows for Apache Airflow, or Control-M orchestration tools.
• Knowledge of serverless architectures, microservices, and RESTful API development.
• Familiarity with messaging or streaming platforms such as Kafka or Amazon Kinesis.
