About the Role
The Product Security team at MongoDB is seeking an experienced full-stack senior software engineer to develop and scale advanced security practices that enable hundreds of engineers to create secure products for our customers.
Our team supports product groups by providing security enablement tools such as AI-driven code analysis, threat modeling, fuzzing infrastructure, security findings triage, and management solutions. We strive to embed security into early stages of product development efficiently and with minimal disruption. With the rapid evolution of AI, we are adapting our security approaches to proactively tackle new challenges.
This position is based in Dublin or Cork offices, or remotely within Ireland, collaborating with a globally distributed team that spans all U.S. time zones.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop features for an automated platform analyzing code security
- Scale security findings triaging and verification tools across all MongoDB products
- Automate the security findings management process, enabling engineers to self-serve
- Create a centralized analytics platform to prioritize security efforts effectively
- Design and implement tooling to shift security processes earlier in the software development lifecycle
Basic Qualifications
- Over five years' experience in production-quality software development using Python and TypeScript within cloud environments
- Expertise in managing full software development lifecycles, including building, deploying, and operating scalable solutions
- Familiarity with microservices architecture, Kubernetes, and container technologies
- Thorough knowledge of continuous integration and continuous delivery systems, including linting, testing, and deployment strategies
- Ability to independently prioritize and complete work after coordination with team and stakeholders
- Proven capability to identify challenges, design solutions, and deliver complex software projects
- Strong understanding of developing AI agent technologies
- Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of security methodologies, such as threat modeling, secure code review, and CVE management
- Experience with C++ or Rust programming languages
- Background in designing and managing systems that safely execute untrusted code using containerization, sandboxing, least-privilege credentials, and network controls
- Experience with NoSQL databases or database software development
