Senior Software Engineer, Product Security

About the Role

The Product Security team at MongoDB seeks a seasoned full-stack software engineer to develop and scale advanced security practices. This role supports hundreds of engineers by enabling them to create secure products through automation tools like AI-driven code analysis, threat modeling, fuzzing infrastructure, and comprehensive management of security findings. Emphasizing integration of security early in development, the team embraces AI innovations to address evolving challenges.

This position can be based in Cork, Dublin, or remotely within Ireland. Collaboration occurs across global time zones, particularly interacting with U.S.-based teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Build features for an automated code analysis platform
• Extend the security findings triaging and verification platform to encompass all MongoDB products
• Automate the security finding management processes to be self-service for engineering teams
• Develop a centralized analytics platform for security signals to prioritize critical security efforts
• Create tooling to embed security practices early in the software development lifecycle

Required Experience & Skills

• At least 5 years in production-grade software development using Python and TypeScript within cloud environments
• Experience managing full software lifecycle: build, deploy, and scale operations
• Proficiency with microservices architecture, Kubernetes, and container technologies
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD workflows, including linting, testing, and deployment strategies
• Ability to independently prioritize tasks in coordination with team and stakeholders
• Proven ability to identify problems and deliver complex software solutions
• In-depth understanding of building AI-powered agents
• Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic familiarity with security practices such as threat modeling, secure code review, and CVE knowledge
• Experience with C++ or Rust programming languages
• Background designing and operating environments executing untrusted code securely, including sandboxing, least privilege credential management, and network egress controls
• Experience with NoSQL databases or database development
