Role Overview
Camunda is recruiting a skilled engineer to build and support Kubernetes Operators vital for the Camunda 8 SaaS platform. You will ensure the high availability and dependability of the cloud services managing multiple customer clusters. This role involves complex challenges relating to Kubernetes, infrastructure automation, and multi-cloud deployments across providers such as Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services. It is a significant opportunity to influence software quality and operational processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and maintain Kubernetes Operators that govern the Camunda SaaS solution, ensuring robustness and reliability for a diverse global client base.
- Work collaboratively with product, engineering, and field teams to design, deploy, and refine features expanding SaaS capabilities across multiple clouds and regions, while integrating high-standard security controls.
- Continuously identify and drive improvements in the existing codebase to increase security, stability, and reliability, contributing to the overall quality goals of the engineering team.
- Champion innovation and help foster a team culture that balances creativity with pragmatic delivery, influencing engineering outcomes company-wide.
- Participate in on-call rotations providing third-level escalation support to maintain system performance and meet service objectives.
Candidate Profile
- Motivated to engage with and use Camunda’s platform as part of your role.
- Experience programming in Go or a comparable language suited for cloud-native development.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong practical knowledge of Kubernetes and its fundamental components.
- Collaborative mindset, open to sharing knowledge and contributing positively to the engineering culture.
- Independent and pragmatic problem-solving skills with a passion for automation and quality improvement.
- Adheres to a "you build it, you run it" philosophy, taking ownership through development to operational support.
Desirable Skills
- Previous involvement in authoring and maintaining Kubernetes Operators, ideally utilizing Controller-Runtime and Kubebuilder frameworks.
- Understanding of infrastructure management concepts including multi-region and multi-cloud deployment strategies, with familiarity in Crossplane being a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Camunda provides a transparent and competitive compensation package that varies by geographic market and experience. For candidates located in Canada, the total target annual cash compensation ranges from CAD 159,100 to CAD 261,600, depending on skills and market location. Equity participation is available through a Virtual Stock Option Plan where applicable.
