Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain kernel-level security features specifically tailored for PlayStation systems.
• Work collaboratively with diverse cross-functional teams to introduce and enhance security measures.
• Identify, diagnose, and fix complex security vulnerabilities within the kernel environment.
• Monitor, evaluate, and respond to emerging security threats to determine optimal mitigation strategies.
• Contribute to open-source projects focused on kernel security innovations.
• Ensure high development standards via thorough testing procedures and peer code reviews.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong expertise in C programming; knowledge of C++ is advantageous.
• Experience with kernel development; familiarity with FreeBSD is considered a plus.
• Solid understanding of kernel-level security concepts and best practices.
• Proficiency with version control systems, especially Git and GitHub.
• Excellent skills in debugging and problem resolution.
• Capability to function effectively both independently and in team environments.

Preferred Credentials

• Advanced understanding of operating systems and low-level system programming.
• Proven experience contributing to recognized open-source software projects.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.
• A genuine passion for gaming and familiarity with the gaming industry landscape.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated base salary for this position ranges from €87,800 to €131,800 EUR, subject to factors such as geographic location, individual qualifications, and organizational policies. This role is also eligible for an extensive benefits package, including paid time off, wellness programs, exclusive discounts on Sony products, and potential bonuses.
