Senior Software Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer for a permanent position based in Sydney, NSW. This role demands strong expertise in Java and related backend development technologies, with significant experience working on cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Java, particularly leveraging Spring Boot framework.
• Design and implement microservices architecture supporting scalable RESTful APIs.
• Deploy and manage applications on AWS cloud environment focusing on best practices and security.
• Utilize container technologies like Docker and manage orchestration with Kubernetes, specifically using Amazon EKS.
• Employ AWS tools such as SNS/SQS for messaging and CloudFormation for infrastructure as code deployments.
• Manage encryption keys and secrets with AWS Key Management Service and Secrets Manager to ensure secure handling of credentials.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proficient programming skills in Java and experience with Spring Boot framework.
• In-depth knowledge of microservices design and REST API development.
• Hands-on experience using AWS cloud services, including EKS for Kubernetes orchestration.
• Expertise with AWS SNS and SQS for messaging utilities.
• Strong familiarity with AWS CloudFormation templates for infrastructure automation.
• Understanding and experience with AWS KMS and Secrets Manager for secret and key management.
• Familiarity with Docker containerization and Kubernetes orchestration patterns.
• Solid grasp of cloud-native design principles and application deployment on AWS.
