Senior Software Engineer - Java with Cloud (AWS)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer skilled in Java development and cloud technologies to join our innovative team. The successful candidate will design scalable, high-performance web services, collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to delivering resilient software solutions using state-of-the-art cloud platforms and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and sustain scalable, reliable, and efficient web services using Java technology.
• Work closely with front-end developers to integrate backend services seamlessly with client applications.
• Create and implement RESTful APIs facilitating communication between server and client applications.
• Apply industry best practices to ensure robustness, security, and reliability of web services.
• Optimize services for improved performance, addressing caching, load balancing, and database efficiency.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and quality assurance to deliver superior software solutions.
• Engage in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and enforcing coding standards.
• Keep abreast of emerging trends and advancements in Java and web services development.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 6 to 8 years of professional IT experience, including at least 6 years specializing in Java development.
• In-depth knowledge of web service creation and RESTful API implementation.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot framework for building and deploying services.
• Strong expertise in security implementations covering authentication and authorization using Spring Security and JWT.
• Proficiency in SQL, including writing queries and stored procedures; experience with Hibernate ORM for database communications.
• Comfortable with Linux command-line usage.
• Understanding of web security principles and secure coding practices.
• Experience working with version control systems like Git and Azure DevOps (ADO).
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps tools such as Sprint board, pull requests, Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Ability to utilize Java desktop technologies such as Swing, AWT, and JavaFX.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Collaborative team player with solid communication skills in English at upper-intermediate (B2) or above.

Preferable Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience with Angular for front-end development.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture.
• Exposure to cloud platforms including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or GCP.
• Hands-on with containerization platforms like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• Experience or certification in Agile software development practices and Java programming.
