Senior Software Engineer

About the Role

Everbridge is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its Auckland-based engineering division. The selected candidate will contribute to the development of our agentic AI platform that supports our SaaS offerings. The team embraces diverse technology stacks and values adaptability, encouraging developers experienced in various technologies to apply. Core technologies in use include React, Node.js, Java, and Python.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain new and existing product functionalities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and release high-quality applications and APIs.
• Engage in technical discussions to enhance system architecture, scalability, and performance.
• Conduct and participate in code reviews, providing thoughtful and constructive feedback.
• Diagnose and resolve technical problems to ensure the reliable operation of web applications and APIs.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Previous development or a strong interest in AI-based solutions, including practical experience or willingness to learn Agentic AI methodologies and related tools.
• Diverse software development and delivery background.
• Motivation to tackle challenging issues focused on enhancing public safety.
• Ownership and thorough management of features throughout their entire lifecycle.
• Experience working with large-scale code bases or enterprise-level software applications.
• Experience with cloud technologies, particularly AWS, is preferred.
