About the Role
Join Coinbase to contribute significantly to expanding economic freedom. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Onboarding team, you will develop and maintain backend systems that facilitate user onboarding and KYC (Know Your Customer) processes across Coinbase products worldwide. This team supports Coinbase's rapid market and product expansion while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale backend services using Golang to manage onboarding and KYC workflows across multiple products and regions.
- Develop service-oriented, scalable systems leveraging modern cloud infrastructure and industry standards to tackle unique platform challenges.
- Analyze onboarding and monthly active user (MTU) conversion funnels to detect obstacles and implement data-driven enhancements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, product managers, designers, and senior leaders to translate vision into execution plans on a quarterly basis.
- Lead comprehensive design reviews ensuring security, operational integrity, and architectural clarity of all features delivered in your domain.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years professional experience in software engineering, focusing on backend service development within service-oriented architectures.
- Proven expertise designing distributed systems with high reliability at scale, including hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, or GCP.
- Strong proficiency in Golang or comparable statically-typed languages, capable of writing reliable, well-tested production code.
- Experience managing full lifecycle delivery of platform features — from design through deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Responsible use of generative AI to enhance workflow efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality while maintaining necessary human oversight.
Compensation and Additional Information
The targeted annual base salary for this role is SGD 191,100. Total remuneration may include equity, bonuses, and benefits such as medical, dental, and vision coverage.
