The Senior Software Engineer position is integral to the InControl platform, which is a key component of Mastercard's Commercial Solutions. This platform facilitates large clients to issue Virtual Cards for secure management and reporting of Travel, Expense, and Supplier transactions worldwide. The team focuses on creating secure, robust, and innovative software solutions serving a global set of customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Create high-quality software that is secure, scalable, and aligns with technical specifications and design requirements within time and budget constraints.
• Conduct research to develop and evaluate alternative technical solutions to meet current and future business needs.
• Perform feasibility analysis, system design including flowcharting, input-output analysis, and assess cost and time impacts.
• Collaborate with project teams to adhere to deadlines, proactively identify issues, and propose solutions.
• Produce thorough documentation for software programs consistent with best development practices.
• Comply with Mastercard's Quality Assurance and Control procedures.
• Contribute to the establishment and continuous improvement of standards and process efficiency.
• Assist in gathering and reporting project and software performance metrics.

Essential Technical Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong experience in developing scalable, multithreaded Java applications.
• Proficient in creating applications using the Spring Framework.
• Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs and JSON/SOAP integration using Java.
• Adept at debugging server-side API requests and designing RESTful APIs following best practices.
• Knowledgeable in Cloud Native Development platforms such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry and AWS.
• Competent with UNIX operating systems and shell scripting.
• Experience in Java performance testing and benchmarking.
• Proficient in database design and strong command of PL/SQL.
