Role Overview
The Infrastructure Design Services team comprises Technology Architects and Engineers who analyze and construct infrastructure frameworks tailored to applications, platforms, or systems, adhering to Mastercard's operational protocols and standards.
From the initial analysis and design phases, this team collaborates closely with application groups and other stakeholders to ensure the complete infrastructure and application architecture meet Mastercard’s stringent security, scalability, and availability criteria.
The key output of this role is the Technical Architecture Document (TAD) detailing the infrastructure design for the relevant systems.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, application teams, and users to establish and verify comprehensive high-level system requirements.
- Create and maintain deliverables such as TADs, technical documentation, logical workflows, and models to keep all stakeholders aligned on system evolution.
- Ensure all architectural artifacts remain current and prevent obsolescence.
- Troubleshoot internet architecture and operational challenges affecting infrastructure and product availability/performance on a global scale.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies for potential integration into Mastercard’s internet infrastructure.
- Lead regional projects including planning, scheduling, budget management, resource allocation, and implementation, as assigned.
- Implement, manage, and support internet infrastructure components leveraging established standards and best practices.
- Conduct problem diagnosis, performance tuning, capacity planning, and configuration management for Mastercard's internet systems.
- Monitor production environments to assure system stability and compatibility for future needs.
Candidate Profile
- In-depth understanding of networks, operating system principles, and web middleware technologies.
- Expertise in at least one core area of internet infrastructure design or web administration.
- Energetic, proactive, detail-focused, and capable of working independently under pressure.
- Strong initiative with a results-driven mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of collaborating within geographically distributed, matrixed teams.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn and tackle challenging projects.
