Role Summary

The CrowdStrike Intelligence Advanced Research Team (ART) is looking for an experienced security researcher with deep technical expertise to join its ranks. ART researchers focus on studying and publishing findings on information security topics, delivering expert technical guidance internally, developing tools to aid analysts, and gathering technical adversary data.

Key Responsibilities

• Design automated solutions to collect, process, and analyze data at scale, such as managing honeypots, conducting Internet-wide scans, and discovering vulnerabilities.
• Create, operate, and improve honeypots to detect and analyze adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
• Conduct vulnerability research and reproduce emerging vulnerabilities to produce actionable technical insights.
• Collaborate with various CrowdStrike Intelligence teams to meet specialized technical collection needs.
• Communicate and inform others about information security developments.
• Publish research outcomes through CrowdStrike’s blog or at industry conferences.

Required Qualifications

• Fluent English communication skills, both written and oral.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in information security.
• Strong understanding of vulnerability research fundamentals, including patch analysis and exploit primitives.
• Experience with reverse engineering tools and techniques.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Linux and Microsoft Windows internals.
• Solid grasp of network protocols.
• Proficiency in software development using Python.
• Practical experience with building and leveraging Generative AI and Large Language Model (LLM) workflows within software development, data analysis, and security research domains.
• Exceptional analytical thinking and creative problem-solving abilities.
• Capacity to work independently with a customer-focused approach.
• Effective in remote team collaboration.
• Demonstrated success in incorporating AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline processes, improve efficiency, and achieve business goals.

Desirable Skills

• Participation in Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions.
• Advanced proficiency with reverse engineering utilities such as disassemblers, decompilers, and debuggers, including malware unpacking and code reconstruction.
• Experience in exploit development and vulnerability research.
• Knowledge of mobile platforms and operating systems like Android and iOS.
• Familiarity with additional programming languages including C, Rust, and Go.
• Background in threat intelligence.

Educational Requirements

• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in Information Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
