Role Summary

The Senior Release Engineer role is responsible for managing the entire release and deployment lifecycle of Elemynt's platform within secure enterprise and scientific settings. This involves creating systems ensuring every release is version-controlled, reproducible, closely monitored, and reliably operable. The position blends aspects of software engineering, infrastructure management, site reliability, and customer delivery. This is a hands-on senior role tasked with taking deployments from prototype stages to production, refining deployment procedures continuously, and transforming intricate installation processes into standardized engineering workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage release engineering including build promotion, quality control checkpoints, artifact handling, and reproducible delivery methods.
• Develop deployment tools and automation to ensure consistent and dependable installation and upgrades across diverse enterprise platforms.
• Design and implement safe rollout strategies, validation methods, health monitoring, and failure recovery mechanisms for production releases.
• Create operational visibility through logging, metrics collection, alerting systems, and support workflows optimized for secure customer environments.
• Develop controls for customer-managed installations such as configuration validation, credential management, certificate workflows, and detailed recovery documentation.
• Enhance deployment stability by troubleshooting incidents, pinpointing root causes, and converting solutions into reusable automation tasks.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and customer teams to integrate deployment readiness directly into platform development.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline with over six years of experience in building and releasing production-grade software.
• Thorough knowledge of release processes, including continuous integration/deployment, automated testing, versioned artifact management, and enforcing production readiness standards.
• Proven hands-on expertise with containerized deployments, infrastructure automation, and operating complex multi-component systems.
• Experience in deploying and maintaining software within customer-controlled or restrictive enterprise environments.
• Comfortable working across multiple runtime environments such as cloud infrastructure, specialized compute systems, bare metal servers, or clusters.
• Strong capabilities in operational debugging using logs, metrics, distributed tracing, and incident resolution workflows.
• Understanding of secrets management, certificate handling, identity verification, permission frameworks, and security protocols for deployed software.
• Demonstrates autonomy and precise execution in managing ambiguous, high-impact deployment projects with minimal guidance.

Preferred Skills

• Background in scientific computing, simulations, engineering applications, or other large-scale technical workloads.
• Familiarity with GPU-based workload management or multi-tenant compute environments.
• Experience with progressive delivery techniques, Git-based operational workflows, or advanced rollout strategies.
• Knowledge of commercial scientific software deployment approaches and license management.
• Skills in packaging, versioning, monitoring, or operating machine learning models in production settings.
• Prior experience in establishing engineering functions in early-stage startups.

Location and Work Conditions

The role is based in Singapore or the United States with an onsite or hybrid work model depending on location. Occasional travel with customer interaction may be required.
