Job description

About Trustpilot

Trustpilot is a thriving, profitable, FTSE-250 company with an ambitious goal: to become the universal symbol of trust. As the world's largest open customer review platform, we connect consumers and businesses through transparent feedback to help people make informed decisions. Headquartered in Copenhagen and with offices worldwide, including London, we foster a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative culture with over 1000 employees and more than 350 million reviews.

Role Overview

We seek a Senior UX Researcher specializing in quantitative methods to pioneer research that measures how users and businesses perceive and experience trust on our platform. You will lead the quantitative research strategy within your product areas, ensuring rigorous statistical approaches and fostering a shared culture of measurement with Data Science colleagues. Your focus will be on assessing journeys from review reading to subscription conversion using diverse methodologies, including surveys, behavioral analytics, and AI-enhanced tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a quantitative research roadmap covering attitudinal surveys, behavior analysis, and long-term tracking for your product segments.
  • Lead comprehensive surveys utilizing validated scales, Net Promoter Score derivatives, and trust perception metrics, alongside data analytics such as funnels, A/B testing, and retention models.
  • Create measurement frameworks defining success criteria for critical user journeys like review consumption, purchase decisions, and subscription engagement, tracking these metrics over time.
  • Conduct sophisticated quantitative research employing statistical rigor across the lifecycle—from survey design to automated, auditable analysis pipelines using Python, R, and SQL.
  • Innovate with AI-assisted methodologies, such as large language model-enhanced open-text analysis, applying a critical perspective on AI validity and bias.
  • Collaborate closely with Data Science teams to align shared data definitions and pipelines, upholding high standards of study design and statistical accuracy.
  • Translate complex statistical results into actionable, clear narratives for product managers, designers, and engineers.
  • Mentor fellow researchers to elevate quantitative research skills and statistical literacy through collaboration and feedback.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum four years’ experience in UX research emphasizing advanced quantitative approaches and handling broad-scope projects.
  • Expertise in survey methodology including instrument development, sample design, and psychometric validation, along with solid foundation in regression, factor analysis, cluster analysis, and significance testing.
  • Proficient in Python, R, or SQL, with practical experience analyzing large behavioral datasets using tools such as Amplitude, Looker, and BigQuery.
  • Proven impact through quantitative studies influencing product or commercial decisions, including designing and implementing A/B tests.
  • Experience integrating AI tools in research workflows, e.g., large language model-supported analysis, AI-assisted qualitative coding, and critical assessment of AI-powered research applications.
  • Curiosity and critical thinking about AI capabilities and limitations; effective collaboration across qualitative research, data science, and product analysis teams.
  • Strong communication abilities to present data insights to multidisciplinary stakeholders in an engaging and accessible manner.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Flexible working options to support work-life balance.
  • Competitive salary supplemented by a bonus scheme.
  • Annual leave starting at 25 days, increasing to 28 days after two years of service.
  • Two paid volunteering days yearly to support community causes.
  • Extensive learning and development opportunities via the Trustpilot Academy and Blinkist platforms.
  • Comprehensive pension scheme and life insurance.
  • Additional health benefits including a health cash plan, 24/7 online GP access, and an Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Full access to Headspace mindfulness app to promote mental wellness.
  • Paid parental leave and support for commuting costs through season ticket loans and cycle-to-work schemes.
  • Modern central office facilities featuring leisure amenities and refreshments.
  • Regular company-wide and team social events, employee resource groups, and engagement activities.
  • Discount access on thousands of items in categories such as travel, electronics, and fitness.
  • Independent financial consultation and free professional mortgage broker advice.
  • Career acceleration programs tailored for employee growth at any stage.
