Job description
Role Overview
FMG is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Assurance Analyst to join their Digital & Data team based in Palmerston North, New Zealand. The successful candidate will take a leadership role in ensuring technology products meet high standards of quality and reliability, supporting both the business and its clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire testing lifecycle, from developing strategies and planning tests, through to execution, utilizing risk-based, exploratory, and business acceptance testing methods.
- Proactively detect, prevent, and monitor defects to guarantee quality results.
- Collaborate effectively within a small agile, cross-functional team, including participating in business analysis and product design activities as necessary.
- Influence requirements gathering, design, and delivery processes to enhance product quality early in the development stages.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to advance QA methods and team practices.
- Mentor colleagues and facilitate skill development throughout the team.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated expertise in QA including developing and executing test strategies.
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and the software development lifecycle.
- Familiarity with current QA tools, testing frameworks, and methodologies, including some business analysis experience.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate risks and identify fundamental issues.
- Excellent communication skills for influencing and engaging diverse stakeholders.
- A mindset geared towards continuous improvement and dedication to maintaining quality standards.
- Experience in the insurance industry or with Guidewire Policy Centre is an asset but not mandatory.
