Position Overview

Weaver seeks an experienced senior proposal writer to collaborate with partners and leaders from all practice and industry teams in crafting compelling business proposals. This role entails managing proposal projects from inception through final submission, including RFPs, RFQs, and related bid documents across both private and public sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee assigned proposal efforts from initial kick-off to final delivery.
• Develop persuasive value propositions and clearly articulate Weaver’s capabilities to maximize new business success.
• Work closely with client-service professionals and subject experts to gather information and insights.
• Manage diverse proposal formats ranging from concise letters to multi-volume state government RFP responses in Word and PowerPoint.

Candidate Profile

• At least seven years of experience designing, writing, and producing commercial proposals and bids, particularly within U.S. state and local government contexts. Federal experience is advantageous.
• Keen attention to detail and ability to identify unique competitive advantages per opportunity.
• Comfortable conducting interviews with executives and technical specialists to extract relevant information.
• Adept at handling multiple proposals simultaneously under tight deadlines while anticipating potential challenges.
• Driven, adaptable, and proactive with a positive approach to new projects and problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business (Marketing preferred), Communications, English, or related fields.
• 7 to 10+ years of professional experience in proposal writing or marketing communications, ideally at a professional services firm.
• Demonstrated proficiency in managing the complete proposal lifecycle.
