Position Overview
CGI, Canada's largest independent IT services company, is expanding in Atlantic Canada and seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee complex projects involving multiple stakeholders. This opportunity will involve leading comprehensive project management processes from initiation to conclusion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full project lifecycle management including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Prepare detailed project charters, work schedules, budgets, and logs for risks and issues.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams comprising business stakeholders, vendors, and technical staff.
- Organize and facilitate meetings, workshops, and decision-making gatherings with project sponsors and leadership.
- Ensure projects align with organizational goals, governance protocols, and management standards.
- Monitor project advancement, track deliverables, and generate progress reports for leadership review.
- Identify risks and issues, devise mitigation strategies, and escalate matters as necessary.
- Assist with procurement, vendor assessments, contract management, and oversight of implementations.
- Manage change initiatives, training programs, and readiness efforts to enable successful adoption.
- Guarantee adherence to privacy, security, accessibility, and relevant regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, IT, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Over 10 years of progressive experience managing complex projects with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated success in delivering projects on schedule, within budget, and meeting scope requirements.
- Proficient in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and vendor oversight.
- Strong communication, leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools like PMBOK, Agile, or hybrid models.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience managing projects in the utility or public sector environments.
- Possession of professional certifications such as PMP, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2, or equivalents.
- Background in digital transformation, infrastructure, enterprise systems, or modernization initiatives.
- Familiarity with change management frameworks such as Prosci or ADKAR.
Compensation and Culture
The compensation range for this position is estimated between $80,000 and $155,000, reflecting factors such as expertise, location, and certifications.
